Welcoming 2013

Aside from the typical New Years goals of loosing weight, getting in shape, saving money, blah blah blah I am adding enjoying life to it's fullest extent and traveling more outside of Oregon.

The first trip is going to be in the spring, the Redwood Forest in California. Dogs aren't allowed in the parks so this will probably just be an overnight camping trip for Josh and I and the pups will stay home. We have been trying to get out there since we moved here in 2011 but have had a hard time with planning. This time we are just going to do it.

Second, Josh is graduating this year which means life will be changing for us in a very positive way (end of summer). We like to do trips for graduations instead of giving gifts, when Josh graduated with his first bachelors we celebrated by hiking the Georgia portion of the Appalachian Trail with two other friends. This year when he is done with his second degree we are going to go to the Grand Canyon for about a week.

Washington and B.C. are so close to us as well so we will be traveling north sometime this year. We want to hit Seattle and do some more hiking in the Washington parks. B.C. will probably be a 'toursty' type trip the first time we go there, museums and city walking, then the following trips will be more hiking geared.

Every year is a great year regardless of the trials and tribulations. We grow and learn more about ourselves and the people around us. Sometimes we gain friends, sometimes we loose friends, sometimes we move away from everyone we know, and sometimes we strengthen the bonds we already have.
